Oasis presents ‘Behind the Smile – How to Support Colleagues Experiencing Domestic Abuse’, a webinar giving practical guidance on creating a safer, more supportive workplace.
Kindly sponsored by Whitehead Monckton.
Domestic abuse doesn’t always stay behind closed doors — it often comes to work, hidden behind a smile. Colleagues may appear calm, capable, and composed while silently living in fear, devastated by the control or violence they are experiencing at home. For many, the workplace is the only place they feel safe — and when businesses commit to creating a supportive workplace, it can be the first place someone might notice that something is wrong.
So domestic abuse is not just a personal issue, it’s a workplace one. Abuse can affect a person’s wellbeing, performance and safety. Living in fear rewires the brain – colleagues may struggle with anxiety, hypervigilance, exhaustion, or difficulty concentrating. Last year it cost UK businesses an estimated £316 million, through lost productivity, absence, and staff turnover.
Join us on Thursday 29th January 2026 to learn about the vital role that businesses can play in supporting their employees. Oasis trainer Jennie will discuss how to spot the signs of abuse, why workplaces are often a safe place for survivors, and how to create a supportive environment. You will also get to hear more about the work of Oasis and how your business can get involved in making a difference.
Date: Thursday 29th January 2026
