Anti-Racism and Equality Statement
We recognise that domestic abuse can affect people from all racial and ethnic backgrounds, and we strive to create a service that is inclusive, accessible, and culturally sensitive. We are dedicated to ensuring all survivors feel supported, heard, and valued, regardless of their race, nationality, or cultural identity.
Gender Equality and LGBTQ+ Inclusivity Statement
We provide a safe, non-judgemental environment for all individuals, and our staff receive regular training to ensure we can offer culturally competent, inclusive care for people from the LGBTQ+ spectrum.
Disability Inclusion Statement
We ensure that all our communications are accessible, including providing information in easy-read formats, large print, braille, or sign language where necessary. Our team is trained to understand the specific challenges faced by survivors with disabilities, and we collaborate with specialist services to ensure that everyone can access the support they need.
Age-Inclusive Statement
We offer tailored support to children, young people, and older adults, recognising the unique challenges each of these groups may face. Our team is trained on working with survivors of different ages, and we collaborate with specialist agencies to ensure age-appropriate support is available.
Cultural Competence and Racial Equality Statement
We are dedicated to addressing and combating racial inequalities in our service delivery. Our team actively works to remove barriers that may prevent marginalised communities from accessing help, and we engage in ongoing dialogue with culturally diverse groups to ensure our services are relevant, accessible, and effective for all survivors.
Faith and Religion Statement
Our staff are trained to provide culturally sensitive support, and we will work with survivors to understand their individual needs regarding faith and spirituality.
Mental Health and Trauma-Informed Care Statement
We ensure that our staff are trained to provide mental health support and to recognise the signs of trauma. We work closely with mental health services to offer appropriate referrals and ensure that survivors receive the care and support they need to heal and rebuild their lives.
Economic and Social Inclusion Statement
Our services are designed to support individuals from all backgrounds, including those who may face additional barriers due to their economic situation. We offer flexible support options to meet the needs of survivors and work closely with other services to provide financial, housing, and employment support where necessary.
Support for Marginalised Communities Statement
We provide support to individuals, regardless of their immigration status, and we ensure that our services are available in a variety of languages. We also work in partnership with other community organisations to ensure that all survivors, regardless of background or status, have access to the help and support they need.
No Wrong Door Statement
We believe in a "No Wrong Door" approach, which means that anyone who reaches out to Oasis Domestic Abuse Service will be listened to and supported, regardless of where they are in their journey. If we are not the right service for a person’s specific needs, we will make sure they are connected with the appropriate resources and services. This approach ensures that every individual has access to the help they need, no matter their circumstances.
