Oasis Support Group
A safe and supportive space where current and former Oasis clients meet each week for mindful crafting, calm chat, quiet support, making friends and discussing futures.
At Oasis, we want everyone who comes to us to feel safe, welcome, and valued.
When clients and volunteers come together to lift each other up, it helps rebuild confidence and reminds people they’re not alone, which is what our weekly support group is all about.
“We rise by lifting others” are words we have written in big letters on our office wall. And we wholeheartedly believe it. That sense of solidarity and of having each other’s backs makes all the difference.
It gives people hope, helps them heal, and shows that even in tough times, there’s still room for joy and connection.

“I have been coming to gardening group since the beginning, it is a lifeline for me and it brings me a sense of community, belonging and acceptance. It’s so lovely to meet up with everyone and enjoy the fresh air and have nurturing conversations and go home with nurturing vegetables.”

It’s the little things
Our pregnant refuge resident said no one has done anything like this for her before. A baby shower was organised for her by our volunteers Belinda and Julie, and other clients, and it overwhelmed her, in the best possible way.
There were many cakes, lots of gifts, an abundance of excitement, and so much love and care in the room to celebrate her and this little life she will soon be welcoming into the world.
For many of those who come to Oasis, life has been marked by hardship, uncertainty, and isolation. Acts of kindness like this baby shower aren’t just about the presents or the party. They’re about feeling seen, cared for, and part of something. They’re about restoring a sense of belonging and self-worth.
You don’t have to face this alone.
If you’re worried you might be experiencing abuse, our team is here to listen and help.
