How we help adults

We give you the support you need, when you need it.

We listen to your unique situation and together we decide on a journey of support, tailored to your needs, to help you to break free from abuse, heal, and rebuild your life. Our services are open to all adults – women and men, including LGBT+ people.

Leaving an abusive relationship isn’t easy. Our refuges provide a safe space for you, and your children, to come to in order to leave your current situation quickly. There are short and longer-term solutions – we’ll always offer what will work best for you. For your safety, refuge places are offered away from your current location.

East Kent service

To find a refuge space, call the 24-hour National Domestic Abuse freephone helpline on 0808 20000 247.

If you’re a young single woman aged 18 – 25 years and the domestic abuse you are experiencing has made you at risk of becoming or caused you to become, homeless – we can provide you with supported accommodation in one of our shared houses. You’ll be together with other survivors and we’ll give you practical advice and support to find a permanent home of your own.

Gravesend service

This 10-week group programme gives survivors the chance to heal and rebuild together in a safe, caring, shared space. You’ll learn about the tactics used by abusers, how to build healthy relationships, how to set boundaries, and how to practice self-care, to build your self-esteem and confidence and enable you to thrive.

This family programme helps primary school-aged children and their non-abusive parent to process their experiences in a safe, holistic way. Parents are given the tools to support themselves and their children through their recovery so that they can live the happy, safe life they deserve.
