Give the chance of a safe night’s sleep this Christmas

Every day, families in our community are living in fear. Behind closed doors, abuse leaves adults and children terrified, isolated, and unsure where to turn. But you and your colleagues can change that.

This Christmas we are inviting your business to sponsor a safe night for a family in need, giving them the chance to escape and begin a new life free from fear.

Did you know that the time of leaving an abusive partner is when a person is most at risk of being killed? So when the opportunity to get away presents itself, families need to be able to move quickly. A donation of £250 could pay for a taxi to safety, a night’s accommodation, and the small but vital items that bring comfort — pyjamas, a teddy bear, a toothbrush and toothpaste.

How your business can take part

We are asking businesses to donate £250 this Christmas, which could pay for a family to sleep in safety. You can sponsor as many nights as you like – we need to be able to help everyone who contacts us this winter. No one should have to live in fear.

The money raised from this appeal goes directly towards our support services for adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse in East Kent, Medway and North Kent.

This includes one-to-one support, refuge, safe accommodation, group programmes and mentoring, as well as sustaining our helpline and one-stop-shop virtual and in-person drop-in centres.
