Talks, Training and Workshops

Oasis can deliver talks and training to community groups, schools, businesses and statutory agencies. We can cover a wide range of topics and tailor the information to you - from assessing risk, promoting understanding of domestic violence and develop appropriate professional responses to disclosure.

Our IDVAs often give talks to organisations, professionals and community groups. Below is some feedback from one of these talks:

Just a short note – thank you very much for coming to our briefing and providing the presentation to us. I have received loads of positive feedback from my officers both yesterday and today. It really hit the mark and was clearly pitched at the right level. One officer even told me they took safety planning tips directly to a job that shift.

Our mentors regularly visit schools to give talks. Here is some of the feedback we have had:

I wanted to thank you for supporting our Year 10 PSE Day on 7th January. I’ve now had all the feedback from the students with lots of positive comments: ‘she gave a lot of encouragement for people with low self-esteem’, ‘relationships shouldn’t hurt’,’that it isn’t always physical abuse’, ‘scenarios were shown alongside some things you could do to fix these situations’, ‘what makes a healthy relationship and what is an abusive relationship’, ‘the subtlety of abuse’
