The RAISE team provide support across a range of needs and risks for those affected by domestic violence to ensure families get the support they need.

We accept self-referrals as well as referrals through central and local access points. Anyone referred will be assessed to determine the best pathway for their needs.

RAISE work with all victims of domestic violence - men and women, regardless of gender identity, health needs, substance misuse or mental health needs.

Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs) provide MARAC (high risk) and community (not high risk) clients with specialist support.

An IDVA works to reduce risk and increase safety. They do this by working with the client to produce a practical safety plan, working with other professionals, such as the police, addressing housing needs and supporting access to criminal and civil justice interventions.

RAISE offers both short and longer term placements in refuges.  Support Workers are able to help with a wide range of issues, providing practical and emotional support.

The locations of refuges are kept private for the safety of all residents. For the same reason clients must go to a refuge that is not close to their current home.

If you live in Thanet or Dover you can access the 24-hour National Domestic Violence Freephone Helpline which will help you find a refuge space if you call 0808 20000 247.

The RAISE team supports victims through the criminal, civil and family court process, providing practical and emotional support.

RAISE runs regular groups open to any woman who wants to know more about domestic abuse. The aim of the group is to help women understand the beliefs held by abusers and the effects upon children, whilst helping them gain the confidence to improve the quality of their lives and identify the local resources that can help.
